Cow theft: 2 Fulani herdsmen in police net over murder

The police in Ogun state, south-west Nigeria, Sunday arrested two Fulani herdsmen, who allegedly killed another Fulani herdsman in an attempt to steal his cows.

Vicnuel check showed that the incident occurred at Itadodo, Ofada in   Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.

Sheu Alao, chief superintendent of police and divisional police officer of Owode Egba police station in Ogun state tracked down the alleged killer herdsmen, identified as: Abdulahi Anaruwa and Mohammed Suleiman.

The duo allegedly killed one Garuba Mohammed, another cattle herdsman, while he was with his cattle grazing, Friday October 28, when the suspects lured him into the nearby bush and macheted him to death.

But, an okada rider who saw them informed the police who stormed the area to arrest them.

Ahmed Iliyasu, Ogun state police commissioner has ordered that the case be transferred to the homicide section of the state criminal investigations department for more discreet investigations.
