    By Emmanuel Udom
Officials of the Federal Task Force in their hundreds  penultimate Monday drummed support for Jimi Agbaje, the governorship aspirant, who is planning to take over from Babatunde Fashola as governor February 28.

www.vicnuel.blogspot.com, who was at the  venue of governorship rally of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) held at Skypower Playing Ground in Ikeja GRA, observed that these officials, popularly known as SURE-P task force, stormed the venue of the rally, playing their bands and openly calling on Lagosians to vote for Agbaje.

These officials, wearing their black tee-shirts danced round the playing ground, singing the praises of the PDP governorship aspirant to high heavens and calling on the people to vote out the Akinwumi Ambode, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the forth-coming election.

However, it was observed further that government security operatives, comprising the police, state security services (SSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were on ground to checkmate possible breakdown of law and order during the rally.

Eight police sniffer dogs were spotted at strategic locations within and outside the playing ground, even as police armoured personnel carrier was parked at the entry to the venue of the rally close to Bishop Vinnings Memorial Church.

Police counter-terrorism officers from Area F police command in Ikeja were seen with their cabarets, a bomb screening gadget patrolling the area.

Speaking on the police preparedness for the rally, Kenneth Nwosu, Lagos police image maker said that days before the Lagos PDP governorship rally, undercover and uniformed police agents filtered into the area on surveillance mission.

“This was to frustrate any move by political thugs to want to foment trouble, where police officers were ordered to deal ruthlessly with any one that could ignite violence or bloodbath”, Nwosu, a deputy superintendent of police said.
