Apostle Paul in the
Bible wrote: “Be not deceived, God is
not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”.
In the last
couple of years, it has become my tradition, especially when the year is coming
to an end to interact with my friends across the globe on insights into the
workings of God and humanity.
I do not
claim to have monopoly of knowledge-spiritual, physical or otherwise. Therefore, my beloved readers are free to
challenge this write-up, add or subtract to it.
The
bottom-line is for the humanity to work collectively in making our world a
peaceful, progressive and prosperous place to live in.
Today, in this write-up, I ask: what is karmic justice? This is one
question some of us have contemplated answers to for decades.
Depending on
our spiritual development, we have different answers to this all important
question. Please, do reflect from time to time on some of your answers.
However,
there are two key words here-karmic and
justice. We need to first and foremost define these words in order to have
a better understanding and focus on our write-up.
Karmic comes from the word, Karma,
which to an everyday man or woman out there means, action or deed. On the other
hand, justice has to do with fairness and right dealings.
Having gotten to this
stage, karmic justice has something to do with our reaping what we sowed in the
past.
We may reap our sowing either in this
life or the next. But, sooner or later, the reaping, good or bad, will
certainly come.
Therefore,
when we talk about karma, the tag words that come to my mind are: action,
balance, equalizer, rewards, consequences, compensation, win-win, etc.
Let me tell
you here and now that karma is neither revengeful, nor merciful. It is a neutral,
natural, immutable law of God or the cosmic.
So, when you
blame the devil, Satan or your enemies, when you are passing through problems,
challenges, misfortunes, you are not being fair to yourself and humanity.
The immutable laws of nature cannot be
changed, bribed, cajoled or manipulated by man, government, judiciary or
religious leaders.
What we
think, say or do today, is coming right back to us with interests in future.
This is for the individual. It applies also to a group, state or nation.
So, if we
think, say and do good, goodness, good luck and fortunes will follow us in
future, either in this present life or the next.
If on the
other hand, we think, say and do bad, misfortunes, bad luck, badness will also
follow us. The law is as simple as this.
In Africa, Nigeria,
we pay more attention to witches, wizards, general curses, real and imaginary
enemies, etc.
We are fond
of blaming others, when we experience misfortunes, ill-luck and challenges in
our lives, and beating out chest in self congratulations, when we experience fortunes.
This is not correct.
In the
north-eastern states of Bornu, Yobe and Adamawa, Boko Haram folks, who claim to
be proud killers for Allah, are busy committing all sorts of activities in the
name of sleeping with seven virgins when they get to heaven.
This is
bad copy for Allah, God and humanity as the Boko Haram killers will not have
the penis to sleep with virgins in heaven. Their bodies will decompose in a
matter of days.
But, individually
and collectively, some of us know deep down that members of this Islamic killer
sect will not escape the consequences of their actions, either in this present
life or the next.
For these
killers, the balancing of the scale will certainly come some day, either in
this life or the next. They will pay because their sins will find them out.
In the
coming year, my prayer is that persons across the globe will strive to think
good, say good and do good to themselves and others. This is the only way to mitigate
the immutable laws of nature. I rest my
pen for now. Best wishes for peace profound.
