… as police deploy 26,000 ‘battle-ready’ officers
No fewer
than 26,000 battle- ready police officers have been deployed to Ondo state,
south-west Nigeria few days to the governorship election.
Vicnuel check showed that the police
in Lagos contributed 1300 officers to swell the ranks of the officers deployed,
while Ogun, Oyo, Osun; Ekiti drafted 500 officers each to the sunshine state.
Our
correspondent who was at the Lagos police command Monday observed that the
officers drafted to Ondo for election duties were been briefed and thereafter
directed to board police vehicles parked at Area F command for onward journey
to Ondo.
But, Don Awunah, force public relations
officer says Ibrahim Idris; the inspector-general
of police is working on the finances meant for the officers on election duties.
In a
related development, noi-polls has
