Is the 7-year-old boy stealing garri story a ruse?

The story-line of the 7-year-old boy roasted to dead for stealing ordinary garri in Badagry area of Lagos, south-west Nigeria sounds like a ruse to me. Or what do you think?

The faceless promoters of the story and the gory pictures, which went viral are not doing humanity any good.

They are debasing humanity and the law of sowing and reaping will exact penalties either in this life or the next.

The mad crowd told the world the incident occurred at Badagry. Where in Badagry? What is the name of the boy? Who is the policeman that was standing watching the madness helplessly? Why did the incident not reported to the police?

Yes the pictures are on the social media, but the global condemnation is high. It is expected. If this story is true, which I doubt, I know the police in Lagos will track down the killers of the boy with time. I still trust the police in Nigeria.

Dolapo Badmos, police image maker for the Lagos state police command in a reply to the text message sent by this writer Wednesday afternoon said:  The command has not been able to ascertain the scene of the incident at Badagry, none of the divisions on that axis have such report.

According to her, command imploring anyone with useful information to kindly report to the nearest police station or the command will treat the incident as one of the social media ruse.
But, who is one the resident of Badagry that was mentioned in the story?

Akinwunmi Ambode, the action governor of the state and
Mrs Wuraola Akinwunmi, coordinator, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) should please look into this report.

"We cannot talk of building a city that is respected by the local and international community when a 7 year old is set ablaze my a set of idiots. The governor must stem the slide into anarchy in the state.”
