Aina Adeyemi, a married woman in Ekiti, south-west Nigeria died during a marathon sex with her lover, identified as one Oluwatuyi Alake,
He body was however dumped in a nearby busy in the area.
The police arrested 45-year-old
Alake and arraigned him before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court Tuesday.
Omolola Akosile, the presiding
magistrate in her ruling ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody,
while the case was adjourned to December 15 for further hearing.
Monica
Ikebuilo, a sergeant and police prosecutor told the court that the defendant
committed the crime October 30 at Ojuoro street, stadium road, in Ijero-Ekiti.
According to the prosecutor,
the defendant had on the said date, had intense sexual intercourse with the
deceased which left her unconscious and led to her death, adding that “he
dumped the body of the deceased in the bush to cover up his deed.”
Ikebuilo said the offence contravened Section 319 of the
Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
She told the court that
she had duplicated the case file and sent it to the office of the Director of
Public Prosecutions (DPPs) for legal advice.
The plea
of the accused was rejected as his counsel, Busuyi Ayorinde, who sought a short
adjournment date pending the outcome of the legal advice from the DPPs.
