Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state says the Independent
National Electoral Commission should postpone the election by one week, instead
of two since the planned coronation of the Oba of Benin is expected to hold September
26.
Oshiomhole, while speaking on a TV programme argued that the Oba’s
coronation is a big event in Edo state, saying that before that day, there are other events that must be
done. It will not be proper to hold election during that period.
On whether APC was jittery on the election, the governor said
that APC defeated PDP in 16 local government areas in the last election held in
the state.
According to him, “Edo is not a war zone and PDP has no
credibility in this state”.
