Lagos state government has hit quacks in the pharmaceutical
business below the belt.
Thirty seven illegal pharmaceutical outlets in Ikorodu, a suburb
of the state were shut down for committing various offences.
Some of the offences include: illegal sale of products and
dispensing illegal drugs to unsuspecting citizens.
Ikorodu Central, Agric, Agbede, Ita-Oluwo, Eyita, Odongunyan,
Igbogbo, Itamaga and Ijede were the areas worst hit by the Akinwunmi Ambode-led
regime that is determined to ensure that Lagosians are not killed by fake or substandard
drugs.
The state task force on counterfeit, fake drugs and unwholesome processed
foods, representatives of National Agency for Food Drug Administration and
Control, NAFDAC, Pharmacists’ Council of Nigeria carried out the raid of these
areas.
