Fimihan Adeoye, the new police commissioner for Edo state
has promised to improve on the security architecture he met on ground, few days
ahead of the September 9 gubernatorial election in the state.
Adeoye made the promise while taking over from Chris Ezike,
the immediate past police commissioner in Edo, who has been deployed to the
Police College Ikeja, Lagos, as commandant.
But, Ezike told police officers that “for the election,
Nigerians are looking up to Edo State to lead so that others will follow. You
either remain a professional or a police politician,”
According to him, in terms of security, the state is now
better off than before where insecurity of lives and properties have been tamed
to an appreciable levels.
