The Nigerian police and department of
state security services, (DSS), are planning joint moves against insecurity across
the federation.
Acting
inspector-general of police, Ibrahim
Idris dropped this hint, Tuesday in Abuja, when he paid a courtesy visit to
Lawal Musa
Daura, director-general of the DSS.
Don
Awunah, a deputy commissioner of police and force police public relations
officer, quoted Idris as saying that the aim of the visit was to seek the
cooperation and collaboration of the DSS in tackling the security challenges
facing the country.
According the Nigerian
police chief,”it is only through synergy
with relevant security agencies that the country can overcome the current
security challenges”.
Responding the DSS D-G, assured
Idris that the government secret police will
give maximum support and cooperation to the drive of the IGP in ensuring that
the country overcomes the security challenges in the country.
