    Lagos police anti-crime scorecard in one month

    Defilement One Kingsley Okeke was arrested for defiling a 10-year-old girl on May 23. In another development, one Morif Mohammed of Dayuo Philip Street, Ibeshe Ikorodu, allegedly defiled a seven-year-old girl at Ikorodu. The victims are truamatised and are being medically attended to at Mirabel Medical Centre, Ikeja.

    Car Snatchers and Recovery of Vehicles 10 members of a car snatching syndicate namely Adeyemi Oluwasidi, Ladejobi Islaumon, Olufunmilayo Olowoago, Hammed Tijani, Idowu Samuel, Ayuba Saka, Omotayo Ayoola, Azeez Adeniyi, Yemi Olunlana, Akintoye Olufemi were arrested for allegedly snatching vehicles at different locations.

    Discrete investigations led to the recovery of nine exotic vehicles from them include one Nissan Almera, Toyota Corrolla, Two Peugeot 406, four Toyota Camry.
    Arrest of Armed Robbers/Recovery of arms and ammunition One Blessing Ireghe was arrested by personnel of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft, Habour Road, Apapa, and handed over to the police. One AK47 rifle and sixty rounds of 7.62mm ammunition was recovered from him.

    Arrest of Armed RobbersTwo members of a robbery syndicate named Ismaila Fatai and Sunday Atiye who specialise in attacking and robbing ATM users of cash, phones and other valuables along Lekki and Ajah axis were arrested. Their operational base is Angels Bar, Ajah.

    Arrest of Armed Robbers/ Rapists Two armed robbers named Richard Orji and Desmond Pedro who stabbed, raped and robbed their victim of assorted valuables were arrested while trying to dispose off their loot.

    Unlawful Possession of Fake Naira One Ndubusi Ijeoma, Simon Joseph, Ifeanyi Ihasiabe and Hope Ihasiabe were arrested  for being in possession  of 78 pieces of one thousand Naira notes. Two computers, four phones, one cutlass and a hammer were recovered from them.

    Arrest of Fraudsters The police arrested one Seye Olowofokunbu , a member of an Advanced Fee Fraud syndicate with operational base at Ijebu-Igbo Ogun State. The syndicate parades the streets of Lagos under the guise of herbal medicine dealers to defraud unsuspecting members of the public. In one of their escapades, the gang defrauded one Lekan Omisore of N4.5million.

    In another development, the police acting on information arrested one Morfu Idowu at Hotel Lawal, Lagos Island Command, for being in possession of 436,650 dollars suspected to be fake and sealed in native attires.
    The items are to be delivered to one Akinsola Olu in Toronto, Canada through one Linda Ogihe and Mariam John both based in Benin City, Edo State. Suspect has been charged to Chief Magistrate Court Tinubu. Efforts is on to arrest the other members of the syndicate.

    From April 4, 2016 to May 05, 2016 the following arrests and recoveries were made in the following areas. For armed robbery, gangsterism/cultism, death of armed robbers and recovered arms the figures include 46, 16, 3 and 13 respectively.

    Others include recovered ammunition, vehicles, raid of criminal hideouts, seized motorcycles and rape cases were 93, 38, 271,78 and 2 respectively.

    Owoseni said the command will continue to synergize with other security agencies to ensure that the state is not only safe but secured at all times.
