Network, TRBN, says on Friday that it is going to clean-up Achakpo area in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun
local government area of Lagos, south-west Nigeria.
Jedidiah Oligbinde, coordinator of
the group says the reason is because that part of Ajegunle is very dirty and highly
populated and therefore requires urgent cleaning attention.
While soliciting for public supports,
she explained online that the exercise is planned to hold Saturday, April 2,
and male and female volunteers are welcome to participate
Her words: ``The event will
create a platform for people to give back to the community as their personal
and social responsibility toward keeping the environment clean and green”.
``This our first outing, considering the fact that the area is known to be highly populated and dirty.
``We also observe that people don't have that clean up mentality; so, we want to use this opportunity to create awareness on the essence of keeping and having a healthy environment," she said.
Oligbinde said the sanitation, initiated by Passion House International, had its focus on waste management, community-led sanitation and youth development.
