The bridge and road linking several villages and local councils constructed some years ago, Udesi Isong Inyang Bridge, Udesi Akai Owu- Mbo Local council of Akwa Ibom state had been cut off which had become “a death trap” and cause economic activities of the area to paralyze over the years.
According to one Mr. Victor Antai an indigene of Oruko Community who lamented to our reporter, that Udesi Isong Inyang Bridge is one major link bridge that connect Urue Ofong Oruko, Udung Uko and Mbo Local Government Councils that require urgent government attention.

Another indigene from Udung Uko, Ama Mkpanam also opined, that apart from only one borehole water project constructed by the former Mbo Local Government Authority for Udesi Akai Atti and Oruko people whose population is about 8,000 another is the epileptic power project that light up sometimes once in a week, no other government vital project is visible in the area especially roads and bridge to boost economic activities to other communities which is mostly trading, farming and fishing.
I therefore wish to use this medium to appeal to the Akwa-Ibom State Government and our representatives to please come to our aid.

Mrs. Rose Ubokulo a daughter of Mbo Local Government Council also lamented that “it’s a pity I cannot sometimes cross to my country home whenever I want to make a visit”. I was once nearly fallen into the collapsed bridge, but with God on my side, I was helped out by a man”.
I therefore want to join voices together to call on the government of Akwa-Ibom State control by our amiable Governor Udom Emmanuel to please come and alleviate our suffering by constructing the bridge”.

Mr. Daniel Edet Okon from Udesi Akai Atti, Mbo LGA is also making an appeal to Akwa-Ibom State government to send some government delegate to the area to see things for themselves” normally we usually parked our vehicles behind before we use our legs to cross over to Urokpo for businesses and I want to say our mothers and wives suffered most as they always find it very difficult to move from community to community for their businesses which in turn had brought untold hardship to our people.

At this point, therefore, Government should please construct the broken bridge and link roads to enable us also benefit from the uncommon transformation of government as we have been neglected by the past administration of the state”.
A middle class woman, Atim Ama from Urue Ofong Uruko, who also spoke in the same vien indicated that “we know that Gov. God’s will Akpabio administration was trying that is why we want to be among those counting gains of democracy in this uncommon transformation agenda” So let him repair our roads and bridge, we are dying of hunger”.
