ON “IDENTITY MANAGEMENT IN NIGERIA ECONOMY: THE BEDROCK OF A CASHLESS SOCIETY”.
CRAAAI is a
non-governmental, non-political consumer rights awareness organization. We are
particular about ensuring consumer enlightenment in the quest to obtain value
for money.
We also provide a platform for dispute
resolution between consumers and providers of goods and services.
The issue of
financial inclusion in the Nigeria financial space is in the front burner. The
underlying issue however remains that of identity management in the Nigerian
Economy.
This we believe
is the bedrock of a cashless society and sine qua non for financial inclusion.
It is in line
with the above that CRAAAI in partnership with CHAMS PLC is organizing a Forum
to enlighten Nigerians and in particular the entire chain of financial
intermediaries.
The goal is to
enlighten all stakeholders on the importance of identity management as a
necessary tool for effective E-payment service delivery in trade, finance and
commerce. Primarily, the need to embrace this tool as engine room to a
flourishing economy and general merchandising is the thrust of this Forum.
As expected, we
have invited E-payment operators, service providers, clients, government
agencies like NIMC, CBN, financial intermediaries, banks’ consumers,
Telecommunication Providers, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), NPC, FRSC, NCC,
the media and members of the general public to benefit by participating.
