       By Emmanuel Udom
Soldiers from the 33 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have crushed members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in forest located around Lame and Burra at Ningi and Torro local government areas of Bauchi State.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director, Army Public Relations dropped this hint in press statement made available to journalists on Thursday.

According to Usman, during the operation which started since last weekend, quite a number of terrorists were killed, their weapons and equipment destroyed.

Similarly, a sizeable number of arms, ammunitions, foodstuffs, Hilux vehicles, motorcycles and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered by the troops.

The recovery include: three  Hilux vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 4 AK-47 rifles, 1 fabrique nationale rifle, one small machine gun, one  police teargas pistol, 36 primed IEDs, 56 rifles magazines, over 500 rounds of 7.62 milimetre ammunition, six  jerry cans of groundnut and palm oil and several IED making materials amongst others.

Our correspondent recalled that the forests have been notorious hideout of the terrorists from where they organize raids, kidnappings and attacks on helpless and innocent citizens and security forces.

But, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General K Minimah, excited by the moves of the soldiers has poured encomiums on them for a job well done, Usman said.
