It was a spectacular sight to behold when Jesus Christ, founder of the Christian religion literarily arrested about 200 serving police officers at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye had stormed the police command headquarters despite heavy down pour last week Tuesday, where he prayed for peace in Nigeria and the police.
Adeboye, who spoke on the theme “The Anointed Police Officer”, during the annual convention packaged by Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN), Lagos State Chapter, said that in these tumultuous times, the police in Nigeria needed more that physical protection.
His words “With the country presently going through some security challenges, police officers need spiritual protection in addition to the physical gadgets and tools for combating criminalities in all ramifications”.
He prayed that the Lord will restore peace, unity and progress in Nigeria, especially at this point in time that the country is passing through tumultuous times, triggered-off by the activities of the Boko Haram sect.
However, after his brief sermon, the RCCG leader made an alter call in which some senior and junior police officers, who attended the convention turned out in their large numbers in front of Adeboye for prayers.
Top on the list of the officers were: Manko Umar, Assistant Inspector-General of in-charge of zone 2 police command in Onikan, Lagos. The zone supervises anti-crime war in Lagos and Ogun states.
Kayode Aderanti, Lagos State police commissioner was also among the crown of those arrested by Jesus Christ through Adeboye as well some divisional police officers, area commanders and anti-robbery squad police officers.
