Akpabio, governor of Akwa Ibom state, south-south Nigeria has released what could
be termed the anti-crime scorecard of his administration.
Statistics
source from www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng showed that one gun boat, two boats, two
utility vehicles and three armed personnel carriers have been provided by his government.
The enviable position we occupy in the Niger Delta region
must be sustained at all cost. This is the only way in which the much needed
investors with the multiplier effects of mass job opportunities can be
encouraged.
The security statistics in specific terms:

Setting up of Operation thunder & Quick Response Squad for maximum
security.
• Donation of gun boats to the Nigerian Navy to check maritime crime
• Investment of over 300 vehicles, Armed Personnel Carriers, to the Police and other security outfits in the state.
• Donation of communication gadgets such as: walkie talkies, VHR radios, CCTV, PABX intercom, scanning equipment and monitoring satellites to security agencies to enhance capabilities.
