Soldiers from the 33 Brigade
of the Nigerian Army have crushed members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in
forest located around Lame and Burra at Ningi and Torro local government areas
of Bauchi State.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting
Director, Army Public Relations dropped this hint in press statement made
available to journalists on Thursday.
According to Usman, during the
operation which started since last weekend, quite a number of terrorists were
killed, their weapons and equipment destroyed.
Similarly, a sizeable number of
arms, ammunitions, foodstuffs, Hilux vehicles, motorcycles and Improvised
Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered by the troops.
The recovery include: three Hilux vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 4 AK-47 rifles, 1 fabrique nationale rifle, one small machine gun, one police teargas pistol, 36 primed IEDs, 56 rifles magazines, over 500 rounds of 7.62 milimetre ammunition, six jerry cans of groundnut and palm oil and several IED making materials amongst others.
Our correspondent recalled that the forests have been notorious hideout of the terrorists from where they organize raids, kidnappings and attacks on helpless and innocent citizens and security forces.

But, the Chief of Army Staff,
Lieutenant General K Minimah, excited by the moves of the soldiers has poured
