    The man, Yemi Osibajo

Yemi Osibajo, Professor of Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was born 55 years ago. He was educated at the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics and Political Science where he obtained LLB and LLM degrees.
Osibajo came into public office in 1999, when he was appointed the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice at the inception of the Senator Bola Tinubu administration in the state. He was re-appointed to the same position in 2003.
He is credited with the Lagos State justice reform project, leading to the establishment of the Directorate for Citizens’ Rights (DCR), an agency that provides free legal services and legal representation to indigent citizens of the state, who ordinarily would not be able to afford legal services.
Prior to his public service engagement with the Lagos State Government, Osibajo was the Head of Department, Public Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos. He was Special Adviser to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 1988 and 1992. The Professor of Law had also served as a staff member of the United Nations and Member of the United Nation’s Secretary General’s Committee of Experts on Conduct and Discipline of UN peacekeeping personnel around the globe.
Osibajo is currently the senior partner in the Law Firm of Simmons Cooper Partners and also a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where he pastors Olive Tree House of Prayer for All Nations parish situated in Banana Island.
He is also an ethics advisor to the Ethics Committee of the African Development Bank and a non-executive director of Citibank.
In 2007, the RCCG pastor and his wife, Oludolapo, a grandchild of Obafemi Awolowo, founded “The Orderly Society Trust,” a non-governmental organization that is geared towards the promotion of Christian ethics and orderliness. He is also a co-founder and board member, Convention on Business Integrity and the Justice Research Institute Ltd and has authored several law books.
Osibajo is the father of three children.
