A Lagos-based
media consultant, Dr (Mrs) Grace Achum on Thursday advised Muhammed Buhari, the
presidential aspirant in the 2015 general election to forget his ambition.
Speaking with
our correspondent, Achum said that at 72 years, Buhari should rather retire
from active politics and become a statesman and mentor to young and up-coming
politicians in the country.
Buhari, who
is desperately seeking to rule Nigeria come 2015, is not the right presidential
candidate for the forth-coming election, since he was floored four times in the
past in his bid to rule the country as president.
Achum, who
is also the media adviser to the president of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations,
said that the opposition All Progressive Congress took the wrong steps when
Buhari was became it presidential aspirant.
According to
her, there are younger and more dynamic politicians in the opposition party,
who can rule the country, unlike Buhari, who is seen by a cross section of
Nigerians as an expired politician.
On the
re-election bid of Dr Goodluck Jonathan, Achum advised the incumbent president
to listen to the voices of ordinary Nigerians then depending on the decisions
and suggestions of the so-called cabals in his government.
“I am not
the media person for Jonathan. But, as far as I am concerned, the incumbent
president has performed creditably well and should therefore be allowed through
our collective votes beyond 2015 to continue with his good works”.
