Kayode Adegoke, an Assistant Commissioner of Police and Sango Ota Police Area Commander, has ordered Sangobiyi Johnson, the Divisional Police Officer of Onipanu Police Station, Ota, to write an invitation letter to one Mutaire Owoeye, allegedly to be a notorious land grabber.

INDEPENDENT gathered that Owoeye, Chairman/CEO of Owoeye Group of Companies, located at Dalemo bus-stop, along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Ogun State, has been constantly ignoring and invading police invitations, while allegedly unleashing terror on residents and landlords around Atan Ota and its environs.

ACP Adegoke gave the marching to the DPO, when he led prominent community leaders to Sango Ota Area Command office recently.

Adegoke said: "I will not condone any act of hooliganism in my area, members of Ogun State House of Assembly; have promulgated a law banning the activities of the land grabbers in the state.”

Owoyele cannot be bigger than the law of the land than and if he fails to honour the invitation, I will order his arrest and charge him to court for criminal activities, ACP Adegoke said.

Adegoke ordered that the DPO should order his men to be patrolling the area and if any land grabber disturbs the residents, the person should be arrested and handed over to the police.

“Please write another invitation letter to Mutairu Owoeye and if he like himself, let him not honour the invitation and he compound his problem and I will personally get him arrested and charged to court,” ACP Adegoke said.

Kehinde Cornelius, a landlord in Atan Ota, said “we thank the police formation for coming into our aid and we expect Owoeye at the next meeting.”

Adesina Akinwale, another concerned landlord said "Owoeye is a notorious land grabber, who does not value human lives, and we thank the police area commander and the divisional police officer for their timely intervention.

Agboola Michael, a resident of Atan Ota in Ogun State, also praise the police for discouraging Owoeye from turning their children to be fatherless and their wives widow.
