Emmanuel Udom,
governor of Akwa Ibom state, south-south Nigeria escaped dead by the whiskers
when a church building collapsed over the weekend in Uyo.
Vicnuel check showed that the
incident occurred at The Reigners Bible church, Uyo village
road where scores were feared killed and other injured.
A Source
said Akan Week; a pastor was to be consecrated
Saturday, December 10 as bishop. But, the event could not hold as the entire
building which was under renovation collapsed.
According
to a source, “many people are buried under the debris as emergency workers
continue rescue exercise.”
But,
Udom, who was not at the church premises when the incident occurred however
rushed to the place to assist in the rescue operations.
Vicnuel further gathered that many
worshippers, who were allegedly killed or injured by the collapse, have been
rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
