The Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim
Magu, on Monday urged Nigeria youths to be on the frontlines of the war against
corruption.
Magu made the call during a town hall meeting with some students on crusade against corruption in collaboration with creative youth initiative against corruption, a Wole Soyinka art vision project.
He noted that the youths and children were more affected negatively by corruption, stressing, therefore, that the youths must rise up against corruption with their talents of dancing, singing, painting, poetry among other arts..
The Chairman represented by Lagos zonal Public Affairs Officer of the commission, Samin Amadin, noted that if creative youths did not kill corruption, corruption will kill creative in them.
''We have been reaching
out to the civil society, churches, mosques, market leaders and community
leaders for adults, yet there is no changes in corruption.
''We discovered that
majority of Nigerians, which are the youths and children were left out of the
crusade. We saw how viable creative youth initiative against corruption we
decided to use It to reach out to them.
''The youths and the
children know everything happening in Nigeria. We do not want them to join the
older Nigerians in corrupt practices,'' Magu said.

Creative Youth Initiative against Corruption, Ms Foluke Micheal said the
platform was to identify talents they could encourage to be use against
corruption.
Micheal said the
anti-corruption education programme was tailored to help youths and children to
recognize, reject and condemn any act of corruption through education and
creative art.
She said they have been
using the platform to sensitize youths and children between the ages of 9 and
14 on the ills of corruption.
