Pastor may be jailed for invading shrine in Ogun

Wale Fagbere, a pastor resident in Yewa north local government area of Ogun state, south-west Nigeria, may be heading for jail for deciding to pull down a shrine in the area two days ago.

Fegbere claimed the holy spirit instructed him to carry out the action, but he became unconscious and speechless after invading the shrine.

However,  Abimbola Oyeyemi, police image maker for Ogun state told journalists Monday that the cleric could be charged to court for malicious damage and conduct likely to cause the breach of public peace.

His words: “What he did was wrong and so he must be charged to court. If it was the other way round too, they will also be charged to court. “Everyone has a right to worship whatever deity one chooses without fear or favour”.
