‘Kill your suspect with one bullet only’, Army boss tells NSCDC operatives

    By Emmanuel Udom

Victor Izegwe, acting general officer commanding 7th division of the Nigerian Army, has told operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, to use only one bullet to kill their suspects.

Speaking during the weapon handling and proficiency training for the civil defense corps operatives, Izegwe said that “the essence of military marksmanship was not to use multiple rounds of ammunition to kill a single target”.

His words: “Always ensure that only one bullet goes to the enemy that it is aimed at, since we d not want you to use 20 rounds in killing a suspect or somebody who is tampering with our national assets.”

The training is being carried out nationwide following a federal government’s directive that the NSCDC should begin to carry arms like other paramilitary sister services.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, okayed the training opportunity for the civil police officers nationwide.
