Gabriel Giwa-Amu, radical Lagos lawyer is at it again. This time, he is turning his arsenal on Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, south-west Nigeria.
A statement issued Friday by Mathew Aramunde, his media aide, quoted the lawyer as saying that the actions and inactions of Fayose since he came into political limelight give the impression that he is someone who belongs to the world of scoundrels.
Expressing disgust at the unbecoming attitude of Fayose, Amu remarked that the itinerant governor by his utterances on sensitive national issues including the recent one, has only gone to prove that he is not a patriotic Nigeria as he will want us to believe because it is now crystal clear that he is merely trying to shore up sympathy for his devious acts in order to curry unmerited relevance.
Wondering why Ekiti State that is so blessed with those of
Professoriate status than the whole of the North put together, would allow a
devious scavenger like Fayose to govern them.
“I have said this time without number that this governor is a
devious scavenger. Blame should be put on the doorsteps of the Ekiti people for
allowing this miscreant to occupy their political space. From my own personal
evaluations, Fayose is to me a
non-compos mentis”
He is therefore
suggesting that as soon as he arrives from his business of meddlesomeness in
faraway China, he should be advised to visit a competent Psychiatrist to
ascertain correctly if indeed he is not having some psychiatric disorder.
Amu said he is only proffering this suggestion because of the fact
that insanity is often said to start with a gale of confusion that overwhelms
parents of affected children in this category, resulting in their failure to
decipher early if the child is merely playing or exhibiting the symptoms of
someone who is mentally deranged. He is of the opinion that the unnecessary interference of the Governor in every issue should be seen by Ekiti State members in both Upper and lower Houses as doing the job the people elected them to do and any to the contrary, will be suggestive of the fact that they are mere appendages.
