Tragedy occurred about 5a.m on
Thursday, December 24, when four of six persons, who were returning from a
party, allegedly drunk crashed into a stationary trailer at Ifo area of Ogun
state, south-west Nigeria.
Our
correspondent gathered that the persons attended an all night party at Global
24/7 and were returning home, when the car they were driving rammed into the
trailer and four of them die instantly while the remaining two were rushed to a
private hospital in Ifo.
When our
correspondent visited Ilupeju area of Ifo, where the six persons were said to
be residing in the morning, people were spotted mourning over those who lost
their lives in the auto-crash.
A source
unknowingly disclosed that one Alhaji, who is popular in the area, is among the
four persons that lost their lives, even as our source further disclosed that those
who survived the accident were rushed to a private hospital around Vesper
bus-stop in Ifo for urgent medical attention.
Muyiwa Adejobi, police public relations officer for
the Ogun state police command could not be reached on phone for official
comment on the auto-crash.
However, an
official of the Federal Road Safety
Corps in Sango Ota, Ogun state, who spoke on condition of anonymity adviced
people not to drink beer or spirit before driving for the sake of their safety.
