    Ebola panic hits Calabar

About 10 persons have been isolated following the death of a patient, suspected to have displayed symptoms of viral hemorrhage (Ebola Virus) in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH on Wednesday.

Findings revealed that those quarantined are principally nurses who attended to the patient and those who came in touch with the patient before his demise.

A source revealed to the Advocate on Ebola scare that it is a rushed report, based on hearsay, in his words “I am disappointed, they are trying to create mass panic knowing how deadly the diseases is, there is federal ministry of health that wont hide such based on the deadly nature of the disease, tests have been conducted results will be out today”.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, Federal ministry of health, the cross river state Government, Calabar municipality and the department of state security service, DSS has been informed.
