Asiwaju of Ebira indigenes in Lagos state, Alhaji Momoh Sanni Yukub has commended Governor Babatunde Fashol for his massive investments in policing in the state, noting that it contributed in making the state relatively crime free.

Speaking on Thursday  with Saturday Independent, Yukub said that the empowerment  and motivation extended by the Fashola-led administration to the Lagos State Police Command, yielded bountiful results during the presidential election held March 28, where minimal violence was recorded in the state.

His words: Fashola is a lover of Lagosians regardless of their tribe as people in the state could now sleep with their two eyes open, which was not obtainable in the past.

He appealed to the police in Lagos with Kayode Aderanti as commissioner to deploy their latest security strategies across various parts of the state in order to crush those hell bent in fomenting trouble before, during and after the governorship election.

Also speaking ahead of the forth-coming governorship election slated to hold on Saturday, April 11, nationwide, the Lagos Ebira Asiwaju called on Ebira indigenes residents in Lagos to again display the peace, orderliness and unity of purpose they exhibited during the presidential election and go out enmass to vote for the governorship candidate of their choice.

“The president-elect, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari should be encouraged by Ebira indigenes in particular and the entire Nigerians to bring about positive change I the socio-economic situations in the Nigeria”, he said.

He further called on Ebiras in Lagos to unite and speak with one voice, while also commending President Goodluck Jonathan for showing the spirit of sportsmanship and conceding defeat to president-elect even before the final results were announced by the electoral body.

Meanwhile, the contestants in the just concluded senatorial election and other positions have been implored on the need to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship after which the umpire has declared.

His words: “Acceptance of result by the umpire and showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship is one of the ways to ensuring the continuity of democracy in this country as well as the peace, unity and progress for the country.
