Grand Councillor of The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, Johnson Ikube, has identified self mastership as key to overcoming crises and bringing about world peace.
Speaking at the public symposium organized by AMORC at Golden Gate Restaurant in Ikoyi at the weekend, Ikube said that people wake up daily to read, hear and feel crises everywhere.

“Terrorism, religious fanaticism, ethnic cleansing, militancy, outbreak of diseases, wanton destruction of lives and properties, and abuse of religious practices are some of the many crises facing humanity”, he said.

These crises, according to him are caused by the fact that individuals are disconnected with God, the creator of the universe and have made material acquisition their gods.
Where there is an individual disconnection, our homes, communities, states and nations are bound to suffer the negative and regressive effects of these disconnections, which will manifest in crises.

Speaking on the theme: “Overcoming the Challenges of Mortal Existence” Ikube further disclosed that the Biblical injunction of doing unto others as one could have others do to us must be practiced, not preached, he said.
His words: The universe in and around us must be mastered, not by force, but through understanding, because life may not always give us what we want, but what we truly desire.

Therefore, tolerance, patience, humility, chastity, love, peace, accountability and openness, must be put to practice by individuals in order empowered by God to overcome the inescapable challenges of mortal existence.

The symposium, which was moderated by Prof Isaac Alaba had in attendance members and friends of the fraternal organization and featured dance drama, questions and answers season.
