When St Anthony Catholic parishioners go spotty

      By Janet Udom

Saturday, September 28, was a cool day. It was unusually breezy. But, for the parishioners of St Anthony Catholic Church, it was a day to go spotty.
The venue was the popular police college in Ikeja, Lagos and the game- a football match between the male and female members of the church.
Incidentally, the Catholic Church, with Rev Fr Paul Omotosho in-charge, is located right there at the very heart of Mopol barrack, opposite Area F police command.
The role, our reporter, who watched the exciting match observed is that the female footballers must be 45 years and above as well as parishioners of the church. The same goes for the male.
But, at the end of the game, the ladies walloped the men, three goals to one. This sounds rather curious, even as Mrs Mec Igaghon, leader of the female team was visibly excited.
www.vicnuel.blogspot.com further gathered that the whole spotty affair was to enable the parishioners keep fit and be healthy for their physical and spiritual activities.
Though the men lost to the ladies, Patrick Ekanem, president of catholic men organization was also happy. Incidentally, it the very day Fr Omotosho clocked 41 years. So, it was really bumper celebrations, you must say.
