Late Nigerian president: Dr Musa Yar Adua
By EMMANUEL UDOM
Members of the Asabe Shehu Yar Adua Foundation on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos state police command in Ikeja, south-west Nigeria.
www.allvoices.com reporter learnt that the members, made up of mostly children from primary and secondary schools across Nigeria were on a mission to learn the workings of the Nigeria Police Force.
Led by Dr Aisha Mohammed, national coordinator of the foundation, the children, from ages 7-14 years were received on behalf of Manko Umar, Lagos state police commissioner by Felix Ogundeji, deputy commissioner of police in-charge of administration for the command.
These children were however educated on the operations of the various units of the police in Lagos and encouraged to dream of joining to serve their country, through the Nigeria Police Force when they grow up.
Dr Mohammed in his submission expressed the gratitude of the foundation to the police in Lagos for the enlightenment and promised to partner with the law enforcement agency in the areas of security education for the young children in schools across the country.
