350 out of the 542 mosques in Bornu, north-east Nigeria Friday offered
special prayers for the full recovery of Nigerian president, Muhammadu
Buhari.
Vicnuel recalls that Buhari
travelled to London on medical vacation about two week ago even as the remaining
mosques were forced to close shops following unpredictable security situations
in the state.
But, Kashim Shettima, governor of the state wrote to Laisu
Ahmed, the chief imam for Bornu requesting that for the prayers.
The imam reportedly mobilized his colleagues for
the prayers.
William Naga, chairman, Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) in
Borno also got a copy of the letter titled, ‘Request for Intensification of
prayers for the complete recovery of Mr President’.
