Oluyemi Olusola, founder of Sayemi Naturescience Centre was arraigned Wednesday before an Ebute-metta
chief magistrate’s court in Lagos, south-west Nigeria on charges of rape,
obtaining money under false pretence and dishonest conversion.
The police in charge no: D/64/2016 alleged that the ‘babalawo’ April 9, 2016 at 48, Ipodo street, Ikeja,
Lagos sexually penetrated the virginal
of one Toyin Bello (49),under the pretence of conducting medical investigation.
According to the
police, the trado-medical doctor was also alleged to have collected the sum of
N8, 500, from the victim, which he converted to his personal usage.
Chinalu Uwadione, the
police prosecutor said the offences are contrary to and punishable under
sections 259 312(1)(a)(B)(3) and 285(1) of the Criminal Laws if Lagos State of
Nigeria, 2011.
Count one if the
charges against the medical doctor reads: “that you Oluyemi Olusola, on 9th
April, 2016, at about 1600 hours, at No. 48, Ipodo Street, Ikeja, in the Lagos
magisterial district, did sexually penetrated the virginal of Toyin Bello, age
49 years, with your medical probe, and thereby committed an offence contrary to
and punishable under section 295 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2011”. The defendant
however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Upon the plea of not
guilty, the presiding Magistrate, Chief Magistate, Oluwayemisi Adelaja (Mrs.),
admitted him to bail in the sum of N100, 000, with one surety in the same sum.
The matter has been
adjourned till January 23, 2017, for mention.
