major streets in Festac town, Lagos, south-west Nigeria.
Our correspondent gathered that
suspected hoodlums unleashed terror in Festac and its environs, shooting with reckless
abandon, while the security agents were initially rattled.
However, Joe Offor, Lagos police
image maker in a statement was quoted as saying that following
sporadic shooting in FESTAC early hours of today, 17.11.2015, and residents are
advised not to panic as there has been heavy deployment of soldiers and police
officers to the area.
According to him, within the period some exercises may be going
on in readiness for any untoward attack from the hoodlums.
Meanwhile residents
are advised to go about their lawful businesses without any fear as the command
and other sister security agencies are on top of the situation.
