O’Odua
Nationalist Coalition (ONAC), a coalition of 35 pan Yoruba groups, on Monday in
Lagos called on President Muhammdu Buhari to order a full scale investigation
into the wanton killings of six innocent people by suspected political thugs around
Igbokoda area of Ilaje, Ondo State.

Akinwunmi Oriola, in a statement made
available to our correspondent, fingered Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Frederick
Akinruntan, as the allege mastermind of the series of killings.
The words of
Oriola: In the past few months, human lives have come under severe and
malicious attacks in the context of the supremacy war being waged by the Olugbo
of Ugboland, where no fewer than six people, ONAC members in Ondo inclusive,
have been hacked to death.
The ONAC
spokesman named Deji Enikologbon, Iroayo Nana, and Banji Orofin, as three of
six persons, who were allegedly killed by political thugs and their bodies
burnt.
He further
explained that Oba Akinruntan, who was chased out of Ugbo, his ancestral home,
imposed himself on the people of Igbokoba, where he is calling the shots and
desperately making efforts to act as if he is the legitimate traditional ruler
of Igbokoda.
While
calling on Oba Akinruntan to henceforth seize to sponsor armed attacks to
attack the peace loving people of Igbokoda land, the group also urged the
Federal Government to launch a mop-up of arms in Ilajeland, Igbokoda and other parts
of Ondo State.
