Grand Administrator of The Ancient Mystical Order Rosai Crusis, AMORC, Dr Kenneth Idiodi on Saturday in Lagos, south-west Nigeria called on the president-elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari to place emphasis on service above self in his governance of the country.
The call is coming few weeks to the May 29 date, when Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the out-going president is billed to handover to Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with our correspondent during the Lagos zonal conclave of AMORC held at Isis Temple in Ilupeju, Lagos, Idiodi said that the out-going government of President Goodluck Jonathan, despite the many challenges confronting his regime, did his best to ensure that the country was united, peaceful and progressive.
According to him, Rosicrucians as members of AMORC are called know that in this world with economic, social, political and other insecurity, service is the rent the members pay for the space they occupy.
He urged Buhari to take a look at some of the achievements of the out-going regime and consolidate on them, while also retaining some of the ministers in the present cabinet of Jonathan, who have performed creditably well in the last six years.
“Though members of AMORC are trained to be more of statesmen and women than politicians they are nevertheless free to join political parties and contribute their quotas to the unity, peace and progress of their fatherland”, Idiodi said.
He further explained that service above self implies that the Muhammadu Buhari should put square pegs in square holes as far as appointments in political and other positions are concerned.

Also, the in-coming regime should ensure that most of
the promises made to Nigerians on delivering democracy dividends are carried
out in order to earn the respect and admirations of majority of the citizens of
this country.
