Based on the
recommendations of police authorities in Nigeria, Mercy John, a female police sergeant, who disarmed a suspected
armed robber in Egbeda area of Lagos, south-west Nigeria may soon be promoted.
www.vicnuel.blogspot.com re-called that Tuesday this week at about 6.15 p.m, John, a non-commissioned police officer,
serving at the Lagos state police command, provost unit, dealt a cruel blow on
a suspected robber, who stormed her resident on a looting mission.
She disarmed the suspect and brought the gun to the Lagos police headquarters
as evidence of her gallantry, where she was hailed by her colleagues for her
bravery.
However, despite the fact she sustained some injuries, while
struggling with the robber, she is likely going to be promoted soon, issued
recommendation certificates, a source said.
Hear our source: At the discretion
of Suleiman Abba, the
inspector-general of police, the officer could be splashed with cash gifts.
When our correspondent visited Lagos police command headquarters,
Thursday, she was said to have gone to hospital for a routine medical check-up.
