Egbin Power Plc plans to invest $630million in Tanzania

Egbin Power Plc is planning to invest $630million in Tanzania energy sector, especially the natural gas-fired plant.
Dallas Peavey, chief executive officer of Egbin stated that the investment could be a huge boost for power generation in Tanzania in the public-private partnership project.
CCTV Africa reports that the project will turn around the energy sector in the country around for good.
His words: “The construction of the plant is expected to commence any time after the company under Sahara Group has linked the investment pact with the host government”.

“We plan to set-up two plants, each generating 450 MW….all we are awaiting now is government approval and Tanesco’s (Tanzania Electric Supply Company) proposal,” he further explained.
