The Lagos state police command Thursday
conducted free medical test to serving and retired police officers as well as
journalists in the state.
Fatai Owoseni, the state police commissioner,
while speaking with journalists said the medical check-up is in line with the
dream of Ibrahim Idris, the inspector-general of police to ensure that police
officers nationwide are healthy and fit to tackle the various forms of
criminalities.

observed that police officers from the 98 divisions, units and formations
across Lagos visited the conference hall at the command headquarters for the
medical checkup.
Journalists from the print, electronic and
social media were not left out as
medical officers from the Police Cottage Hospital, located at the back of Area
F police division in Ikeja, Lagos were screened on high blood pressure,
hypertension, blood sugar level, HIV/AIDS and other medical conditions.

newspaper poured encomiums of the police in Lagos for the medical checkup.

hristopher Orji, the immediate past president
of Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, (CRAN) urged the IGP to make the
medical checkup for police officers and journalists regular as it could
contribute to the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of the officers.
