Man allgedly kills wife over money in Ogun

  Money wahala may have been the underlying reason Mathew Oguntade; 26-year old husband of his 20-year old wife, identified as Mary Oguntade allegedly killed her Friday, January 13.

The incident occurred behind Anglican Church Owode-Ijako in Ogun state, south-west Nigeria.

The police have arrested Mathew, who explained that a minor disagreement between himself and the wife lead to the unfortunate murder of the lady.

But, Iskilu Kareem, CDA chairman of the community reported the case to the police saying that the man allegedly strangled his wife to dead before the police arrived the scene of the incident.

Kareem alleged that the husband strangled to dead, threw the body outside through their window and ran away. 

DPO Sango Ota, SP Akinsola Ogunwale led detectives to the scene, took the corpse to general hosp Iskilu Kareem ital, Ifo morgue in Ogun state before launching serious manhunt for the suspect.

Their efforts paid off the following day, Saturday 14, 2017 when the suspect was apprehended and taken to custody. 

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that suspect be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Eleweran Abeokuta for a discrete investigation.
